Mortgage loan approvals fall 2.4%

'Approval in principle' expedites licensing

June CPI up 1.3%

Overall consumer prices in June rose 1.3% over a year earlier, the Census & Statistics Department says. The larger year-on-year increase was mainly due to the enlarged increase in pork prices.

Flat construction pace cools

This year's second quarter saw construction start on 700 private flats, down 83% on the same period last year, while 600 units were completed, an 89.7% drop, the Transport & Housing Bureau says.

Bankruptcy petitions down 18.4%
