Gov't takes steps to save Pokfulam building

The European-style building at 128 Pok Fu Lam Road, including its garden and access road, has been declared a proposed monument for 12 months to negotiate with the owner to reach a consensus on its preservation, the Home Affairs Bureau says.


29 building plans approved in March

Study hall declared historical building

Chik Kwai Study Hall Chik Kwai Study Hall at Sheung Tsuen, Pat Heung in Yuen Long, will be declared a historical building under the Antiquities & Monuments Ordinance from June 29.



Queen's Pier a Grade I historical building

The Antiquities Advisory Board has assessed Queen's Pier, built in 1953-54, as a Grade I historic building. The grading will have no effect on the options of reassembling the pier, including the option of reassembling it at its original location.


Mandatory building inspection on the way

Secretary for Housing, Planning & Lands Michael Suen says the Government will amend the Buildings Ordinance as soon as possible to implement the mandatory building and window inspection schemes.


37 building plans approved

The Buildings Department approved 37 building plans and issued 10 occupation permits in April. Of the approved plans, 14 are on Hong Kong Island, six in Kowloon and 17 in the New Territories.
