The concise Report summarises the state of Hong Kong's beach water in 2006. The percentage of Hong Kong's beaches complying with the Water Quality Objective remained at 83% in 2006, the same as in the previous three years, and a significant increase from 63% in 1997. Moreover, the number of "Good" beaches has more than doubled over the past decade. The community's continued support is needed for further improvement of beach water quality in Hong Kong
