Construction projects for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games are the priorities of auditing work this year in China. Li Jinhua, auditor-general of the Chinese National Audit Office (CNAO), made these comments yesterday. At the same time the CNAO discovered 7.1 billion yuan (US$909.5 million) in illegally used social security funds in 2006.

Chief Executive Donald Tsang has put foward an action agenda, that maps out how Hong Kong can leverage the Mainland's 11th five-year plan. This blueprint is based on 50 strategic recommendations and 207 specific measures presented by four focus groups set up during last September's economic summit.
