Yang Chunlin, a land rights activist who was detained in July after obtaining more than 10,000 signatures on a petition that proclaimed human rights more important than playing host to the Olympics, has been chained for days in fixed position and forced to clean the wastes of other inmates, according to the group China Human Rights Defenders.
